The Manchester Area Chamber and the Manchester Tourism & Community Development Commission are entering into an even more cooperative partnership.  The chamber will be working closely with the tourism commission on efforts to recruit events into town such as sporting events, business conferences, arts and crafts fairs – And we’ll be working closely with the hospitality industry on strategies to capture every tourism dollar possible.

Last week, we attended a “Boost Your Tourism” workshop facilitated by the Tennessee Department of Tourism Development, and later in the week, we were honored to host one of the presenters, Sara Beth Urban, Middle Tennessee Regional Manager, here in Manchester. What a perfect way to capitalize on the excitement we brought back from the conference!

At the workshop, experts from the field challenged us to identify our tourism assets such as: attractions, nature and outdoors, music and arts, history and heritage, food and wine, shopping, and agritourism. There was a tremendous feeling of pride as we walked around the square, drove by local attractions, visited with friends, and “told our story.” Manchester is truly a special place.
