One of TNECD’s long-term goals is to have the lowest unemployment rate in the Southeast by 2025. As it stands right now, Tennessee’s economy has already reached that milestone.

Tennessee’s jobless rate fell to a historic mark again in the month of July. After hitting a previous record in June, the jobless rate reached a new best of 3.4 percent. That ties Tennessee for the lowest unemployment rate among states in the Southeast and No. 12 nationally.  Read more
